A spokesperson for Ticketmaster stated that no tickets purchased on its platform “have or will be canceled” and that fans can be confident in receiving authenticated tickets. The Spurs also stated that while individuals with billing ZIP codes outside the designated area are unable to complete new purchases due to a geographic restriction, previously purchased tickets are not being revoked. The Spurs noted that this restriction, intended to favor local fans, has been in place since the playoffs began in April. Governor Kathy Hochul posted on social media that fans should be able to keep their seats, while New York Attorney General Letitia James demanded the Spurs remove the policy.
