Hank Azaria “Bothered” by Taylor Swift’s Appearance at Knicks Game
The New York Knicks secured their first NBA championship in 53 years on Saturday after defeating the San Antonio Spurs 94 to 90 in Game 5. The victory followed a 107 to 106 win in Game 4 on Wednesday night, which featured a 29-point second-half comeback. The championship run saw significant celebrity involvement. Actor Hank Azaria, a longtime Knicks fan, expressed being “bothered” by Taylor Swift’s courtside seats at Game 4. During an appearance on The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz, Azaria stated he was “tired of the whole Taylor sports” and called it “ridiculous” that she received three courtside seats with Alana and Este Haim. Azaria noted that while he was in the arena for Game 4, his seats were in the upper-bowl Cisco Suites, which he described as being “like the ceiling.” He observed that “A+ list” celebrities were at the bottom, while others were “stuck wherever.” Other high-profile figures supported the team throughout the series. Jordyn Woods, who is engaged to Knicks star Karl-Anthony Towns, spoke with The Hollywood Reporter about the “electric” atmosphere and her “lucky” orange purse, which she noted the team tends to win with. Woods also highlighted how the run has brought New Yorkers together and noted a sense of positivity in the city. Following the Game 5 win, several celebrities celebrated the title. Timothée Chalamet and Ben Stiller were in San Antonio to witness the victory, with Chalamet remarking it was “way rather this than the Oscars” before entering the locker room for a champagne celebration. Jennifer Lopez, Cardi B, and Mariska Hargitay also shared tributes on social media. Hargitay, who attended Game 4 with Swift, posted a tribute to Finals MVP Jalen Brunson, who joked in a postgame interview about trying to appear on SVU.
