Greta Lee, Wagner Moura Spend Years Trapped at Home in Trailer for Netflix Thriller ‘Last House’
Netflix is set to release the science-fiction thriller The Last House on August 7. Directed by Louis Leterrier and written by Matthew Robinson, the film was previously known as 11817. The story follows a family of four who become trapped inside their home with dwindling resources and discover a looming presence preventing their escape. The cast features Greta Lee and Wagner Moura, who are joined by Riley Chung, Emma Ho, Noah Alexander Sosnowski, and Gabriel Barbosa. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lee asks “What the hell is going on?” in the trailer upon learning their home is sealed, while Moura later asks, “What if something out there is keeping us trapped?” Leterrier, who previously directed Fast X and Now You See Me, produces the project alongside Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, Kori Adelson, and Oly Obst. The film is from Chernin Entertainment and 3 Arts Entertainment. Greta Lee has appeared in Tron: Ares, A House of Dynamite, and Past Lives, and is known for the series Russian Doll and The Morning Show. Wagner Moura received an Academy Award nomination for The Secret Agent and has appeared in Civil War, The Gray Man, Narcos, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, and Dope Thief. In separate entertainment news, Love Island USA will host a theatrical screening of an upcoming episode at 28 select theaters on Monday, June 22, at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT. Hosted by Ariana Madix, the reality show features singles in a Fiji villa competing for a $100,000 grand prize. According to Deadline, the eighth season has seen a 74 percent increase in minutes viewed on Peacock compared to last year. This week’s episode will be dedicated to Executive Producer James Barker, who died last week in Fiji following an unexpected medical emergency.
